Simultaneous engineering

Simultaneous engineering is a method that shortens the time needed to bring new products to market. The time saved is made possible by the fact that employees from different areas of a company are involved in parallel with the creation of a product, production planning, the procurement of input materials or the marketing strategy. The project participants are grouped into one or more simultaneous engineering groups. In this way, communication channels are reduced and cooperation is strengthened. This method also allows external companies to participate in the project in parallel and synchronously. (Source: GPM)
