In addition to business factors (financing, market and brand strategy), personnel-related factors make a significant contribution to the success of an M&A project. In particular, it is important to prepare employees for working with their new colleagues by providing them with information about the other company and by working in mixed teams at an early stage, and to foster their commitment. The existence of an integration strategy, the involvement of HR management in the integration project group and the leadership of this project group by an experienced project manager with strong leadership skills are also significantly related to the overall success of an M&A project.
