Supplier Kanban is based on the
Kanban principle, but
goes beyond the company boundaries and includes the suppliers in
the principle. In contrast to Kanban, in supplier
Kanban the point of
consumption does not report its requirements to an internal supply
point but to an external supplier. This has the necessary products
on stock. A goal of supplier Kanban is - like with
Kanban - a demand-controlled
part supply, which takes place here by the one external supplier.
The demand determination takes place mainly over Kanban containers,
eKanban, transponder or RFID. Upon delivery and after an incoming
inspection and booking, the parts flow directly into the internal
Kanban system.
